Pixar Theory: How All Disney/Pixar Movies Are Interconnected

Social media manager and Pixar enthusiast Jon Negroni has come up with a zany yet pretty mind-blowing theory on how all of the Disney/Pixar films are interconnected, and not just by the “Easter eggs” included in each film.

Here’s the gist, as summed up by Movies.com

A quick summation: Negroni sees Brave as the first and last movie in the timeline and argues that the witch from the 2012 film — about a young girl in the Scottish Highlands who seeks independence — sparked a population of intelligent animals. This action set up a power struggle in the future films between humans, animals and machines.

Negroni’s theory is intense, but it’s also an extremely amusing read! Check out his essay here and check out the Cracked.com video that inspired him here!

New Concept Art for Disney’s FROZEN

Geek Tyrant has uncovered new concept art for Frozen, Disney’s upcoming take on Han Christian Andersen’s ‘The Snow Queen’ starring Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel!

Frozen Disney Idina Menzel Kristen Bell

In Frozen, a prophecy traps a kingdom in eternal winter, so Anna (voice of Bell) must team up with Kristoff, a daring mountain man, on the grandest of journeys to find the Snow Queen (voice of Menzel) and put an end to the icy spell. Encountering Everest-like extremes, mystical creatures and magic at every turn, Anna and Kristoff battle the elements in a race to save the kingdom from destruction.

Frozen will be a CG animated film scheduled to be released on November 27, 2013.

Saorsie Ronan, Gabriella Wilde, and Alicia Vikander Up for Live-Action ‘Cinderella’ Movie

/Film is reporting that Saoirse Ronan (The Host), Alicia Vikander (Anna Karenina) and Gabriella Wilde (Carrie) are the three stars left in the running to star in Mark Romanek’s live-action adaptation of Cinderella, which will be released by Disney.

All three are rumored to test for the leading role, though there’s no word on whether or not they’ll be auditioning with Cate Blanchett, who has already been cast as the evil stepmother.

Here’s the background on each actress:

Ronan has the highest profile of the three within the U.S., thanks to her work on Atonement, The Lovely Bones, and Hanna — the latter of which also starred Blanchett. She’ll next appear in Andrew Niccol’s Stephenie Meyer adaptation The Host. The downside for Ronan is that she’s so in-demand, she may have trouble fitting Cinderella into her schedule. She recently landed the female lead in Wes Anderson’s The Grand Budapest Hotel, and is attached to lead role in Working Title’s Mary Queen of Scots.

Swedish actress Vikander isn’t as well known as Ronan, but she’s on her way up. She’s currently starring in Joe Wright’s Anna Karenina, and will star opposite Jeff Bridges, Julianne Moore, and Ben Barnes in The Seventh Son.

The British-born Wilde was seen last year in The Three Musketeers, and has just wrapped a key role in Kimberly Peirce’s Carrie remake.

Disney Purchases Lucasfilm for $4.05 Billion

Here’s something that we didn’t see coming!  Today it was announced that Disney has acquired Lucasfilm for $4.05 billion  giving it all rights to the Star Wars franchise.  And what is probably the aspect of this deal that’s creating the most buzz is the fact that in 2015 we will be getting Star Wars: Episode VII!  You have to let us know what you think about that!

Here’s and excerpt from a very in depth article by Collider:

Disney has purchased George Lucas’ Lucasfilm for $4.05 billion, and has earmarked a 2015 release date for Star Wars: Episode VII. Yes, you read that right. Not only will Disney be in command of the Star Wars empire, but a seventh entry in one of the most popular franchise of all time is in the works and set for release the same year as The Avengers 2 and Justice League.

I’m still in a fair amount of shock here, but with this move Disney has solidified its plans to take over the world as the company now houses Pixar, Marvel, and Lucasfilm. The new was announced by both companies, so this is no hoax.
